Vigilância Ambiental de Itatiaia divulga balanço da vacinação antirrábica

Cães e gatos ainda podem ser imunizados no setor de Zoonose


A Secretaria Municipal de Saúde, por meio do Setor de Vigilância Ambiental  divulgou um balanço da campanha de vacinação antirrábica no município. A campanha, dividida em quatro etapas, teve início em setembro e até o momento foram imunizados 5.946 cães e 1.273 gatos, totalizando 7.219 doses  de vacina aplicadas.


Para atingir o maior número de animais, o Departamento de Zoonozes elaborou um roteiro com vários pontos de vacinação na cidade, que incluíram os bairros da área Central de Itatiaia, Penedo e Maromba e Maringá.


As vacinas aplicadas em postos volantes (visitação em cada residência) e postos fixos já se encerraram, todavia, cães e gatos que não foram imunizados contra a raiva, ainda podem ser vacinados  sendo levados até a unidade da Zoonose, no Centro, localizada na Avenida dos Expedicionários, 425, Centro.

Os procedimentos de imunização se darão até o último dia útil de dezembro. A expectativa  até o fim da campanha é vacinar 7.500 animais.  


A Vigilância Ambiental reforça que para receber a dose da vacina, o animal não poderá estar doente e nem as fêmeas no período de gestação. Serão vacinados também os animais a partir de quatro meses de idade, mesmo os que já foram imunizados em anos anteriores.
